SEAPORT COASTAL RESILIENCE

NEW YORK CITY, NY

Seaport Coastal Resilience (SPCR) is a near-term project aiming to protect the Historic South Street Seaport from future tidal inundation and current day coastal flooding. The project will directly mitigate coastal flooding risk, extreme precipitation, and the urban heat island effect while using innovative design and engineering strategies to integrate flood protection into a public esplanade and the historic neighborhood. The team recently presented the pre-design framework during Community Workshop #2.
